RARE VINTAGE KILI ISLAND BAGS
Vintage island, Kili bags. Originally made by the Islanders from bikini atoll. The intricate weaving of young coconut leaf fibers is all done by hand. I’m Polynesia, the fibers are called niau blanc. Inside the bag is a layer of classic 1/4 inch wide lauhala strips. The top of the bag is attached at one end and opens with the flip is a lid woven handles complete the look. Available in two sizes.
Small measures: 5.5” long, 4” tall and 3” depth. Slightly darker.
Medium. 7.5” wide, 6” tall and 3” in depth.
